NORIS GEW
A thread gauge is used to check the dimensions of a specific thread form angle, pitch and diameter. Plug gauges are used to check internal threads, whereas ring gauges are used to check external threads
What is a thread setting gage?
Thread Setting Plug Gages are used to inspect, calibrate and set adjustable thread ring gages. Vermont Gage inventories a broad range of Adjustable Thread Ring Gages used to inspect both the Unified Inch and M Series Metric product threads. We also carry Left Hand Unified and Metric thread gages.
How do you use a thread gauge?
When the gauge is turned counterclockwise (or clockwise for left-hand components), smooth motion and a slight 'click' as the gauge runs over the start of the thread shows conformity. Once this test has been performed, the thread can be tested as normal.
